I was told in class last week by a regular reader that my blog was boring because I didn’t post as much as I used to. It’s true. I don’t. I have an excuse, though! I joined a gym, and I’m loving it! Although I’ve had a membership at the UAMS Fitness Center since I started doing Zumba there, I never really used the other facilities they offered. When I recently tried to access the facility after hours, my membership card failed to let me in. For that and a couple of other reasons including proximity and other services, I joined 10 Fitness.
I signed up for the $20 per month premium membership, which gives me access to Zumba and other group exercises as well as allowing me to bring a friend with me when I come.
I’ve only visited the Conway location, but I must say that I’m quite happy with the service, the facilities, and the ease of access. I just walk in, beep the barcode on my keychain, and hop on a machine or grab a weight. The group exercise room is gorgeous, with ample volume coming from a Bose sound system. Being in an old home improvement store, you don’t feel crowded.
Upon joining, I was told that I would get a free session with a personal trainer. More on that soon.
