Temptation Tuesday: Dirt Cheap Easter Candy

This is the first of my “Temptation Tuesday” series. Let’s talk about the things we can’t/won’t/don’t/shouldn’t/HAD BETTER NOT have. Doesn’t that sound like fun?  We just finished Easter, and every time I walk into the grocery store, I pass by the ever-dwindling selection of Easter candy.

Peeps, chocolate bunnies, Cadbury Creme Eggs, and whatnot usually only come out once a year.  They’re gimmicks that I’m not interested in.  I can walk past junk food every day for a month and not pick it up.  If you stick an orange “Manager’s Special” tag on a product, whether it’s something I want, need, or have no reason to even consider, I am drawn to it like a moth to a flame.

My inner haggler can’t resist 90% off on chocolate shaped like a rabbit.  I can resist chocolate, but not when it’s on clearance.

Did you buy any cheap goodies?

I survived the temptation of cheap Easter candy! I don’t do a lot of in store shopping, though, so that helps. I have my groceries delivered, so I don’t see all of the bad stuff 🙂 I did see the Easter candy at 75% off at Walgreen’s, but I survived!

I also survived Easter candy this year. The grandchildren didn’t come at Easter so we had no candy in the house, although I was tempted to get a chocolate bunny before Easter. Even if I put candy in the freezer it calls to me! I tried bags of small bars but then I would eat 6-8 and thought ” It’s not like I ate a big one”. Candy is my trigger food so better not to keep it in the house.
