Peanut Butter Portion Control Success Story

I shared with you on Monday a video showing how I portion my peanut butter. Today, I scooped out the last portion of peanut butter left in my tub with a spatula to make tomorrow’s peanut butter and crackers. Curious to know if I had done well with my portion control, I did a little math.

Peanut Butter Jar

I bought this giant tub of peanut butter in late January. Eaten as a fat serving on the Diabetic Exchange, a portion of peanut butter is 8 grams. I eat one portion for breakfast, one with my morning snack, and one with my evening snack. That’s 24 grams per day, if all goes according to plan.

Now… 1810 grams in the container divided by 24 grams per day means this tub should have lasted me 75 days. Guess how many days it has been since January 29, 2013?
