So much of what it takes to be successful at weight loss, personal finance, or anything, really, comes from the maturity to buckle down and do what needs to be done.  I say this as a thirty-something “kid” who grew up spoiled, lived most of my twenties coddled by society, and only in the third decade of his life decided to “own” his situations and make right the things which were not.  One amazing quote that guides me is from e.e. cummings.

It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.

I’m not going to “preach” to you about this, but simply say that many of the reasons that we are unsuccessful in our pursuits is because we remain childish, coddled, spoiled, and lazy.  Grow up.  Become who you really are.

Be courageous.
